The Houston Chapter of ASTD is happy to announce the formation of a study group to help prepare our Houston area Training Professionals to take the Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP) exam. The study group will be held every Thursday for 9 consecutive weeks, the dates will be dependent on the test window. Each session will be 2.5 hours in duration.

What is CPLP?

The CPLP� is a professional certification program that credentials individuals in the learning and performance field. Certification covers the broad spectrum of learning and performance, and addresses nine areas of expertise based on the middle tier of the ASTD Competency Model.� For more information, please launch the following link: http://www.astd.org/content/ASTDcertification/

It is our hope that you can make this commitment of time. We are a talented group of people and we can all learn from each other. By participating and supporting the certification process, we can make our chosen profession more credible and prestigious. We will also strengthen our training-community bonds.

Registration fee is for this set of 9 sessions. Missed sessions can not be replaced.

All,

Tomorrow evening, Thursday, October 2nd, we will hold our 1st CPLP study group for the Fall testing window. Please come prepared to discuss the 1st book out of the ASTD Learning System. We will review the 1st AOE and before we leave, we will review some sample test questions by going through the flash cards (we have a set so no worries).

We will meet at the HCC Campus located Downtown at 811 Dallas. It is near Travis and I believe that H.P.D. is across the street.

You can park in the parking garage but please bring $3.00 cash. HCC will provide us with discounted tickets which I will hand out after class. If I recall correctly from last time, you have to take a set of elevators in the garage and transfer to another bank of elevators. We will meet in Room 701 not 702 as posted on the ASTD website.

We will meet at 6pm tomorrow and then the class can decide if they prefer to begin classes at 5:30 or 6pm moving forward.

Also, this is informal so please feel free to bring something to eat if you need to.

I'm looking forward to seeing all you you tomorrow.

Action Required: Please let me know by 11am tomorrow if you plan on attending so that I can get you a discounted parking ticket. Also, if you want to forward this email to others, please feel free but I will need to know if they are coming or not.
