Speaker Marla Durden

  Marla Durden is President and CEO of New Story Consulting, and brings depth of experience and the commitment of calling to her work as an innovative life + business coach and entrepreneur.

She has a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Texas and an Entrepreneurial Masters from the MIT/EO Birthing of Giants Program. She is founder and former CEO of an award-winning and innovative wellness product company for which she was the 1997 recipient of the Seattle Mayor's Small Business Award.

Marla has 20 years of speaking and facilitation experience in corporate, NGO and international settings. She is an innovative and transformational life and executive coach, working with a diverse roster of companies, executives and entrepreneurs.

 She spent 15 years in leadership positions for the YWCA of the USA and the World YWCA, headquartered in Geneva Switzerland. In her role as a member of the international executive committee Marla traveled the world widely; working on five continents; attending UN and other international conferences; and working with and on behalf of women the world over.

Marla is a graduate of Leadership Houston, class XXV and lives in the Heights with her dog Rico Suave.

Career Transitions Group (CT-SIG)
The Career Transitions Group (CT-SIG) provides ASTD members and guests who are in career transitions with a forum for discussion.  The Mission of the CT-SIG is:
To provide tools for people in transition that empower them in the face of uncertainty; to guide people in finding their passions in life; to accelerate the process of developing a meaningful career path.
Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 3:30 pm.

There is no fee to attend. You will need to pay parking ($2 or $3)
