Career Transitions Group (CT-SIG)

The ASTD Houston Career Transitions Special Interest Group (CT-SIG) provides ASTD members and guests who are exploring career options with a forum for discussion. The Mission of the CT-SIG is:

To provide tools for people in transition that empower them in the face of uncertainty; to guide people in finding their passions in life; to accelerate the process of developing a meaningful career path.

Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month. The agenda is as follows:

There is no fee to attend. You will need to pay parking ($2 or $3)

Biography

Doctor B is a passionate people strategist and human capital analyst who provides “straight- forward” consulting support in the areas Strategic Talent Planning, Human Capital Forensics and Risk Analysis, Leadership Assessment & Development, Team Development & Performance, Diversity & Inclusion, and Employee Crisis Management. She is considered a “cutting-edge expert” on the subject of Generations in the workplace publishing her second book, ‘Get Your Shift Together: The Secret to Working with Multi-Generations in the Workplace.’ She is privileged to have coached hundreds of individuals to success in their careers as an Executive Coach and through workshops and empowerment sessions.

 

Doctor B has been featured on the local CBS network and Clear Channel Sunny 99FM radio sharing her ‘Career Tip of the Week’ for several years. She published her first book, Shift Happens: Straight Talk About Jobs, Work and Careers in 1996 which was updated and re-printed in 2000. She is currently working on her third book, God Works, Inc.: HE Wants You to be the CEO of Your Career.

Before starting her company, Bonnie spent 15 years of her career as a Corporate Banker working with Fortune 500 companies and real estate developers to provide on-going financing for their operational needs.

She is a native Texan, graduating from the University of Houston with a BBA in Finance. She earned her CPC (Certified Personnel Consultant) designation in 1986 and she is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas as a Certified Mediator.

Bonnie is an active member of the Greater Houston Partnership's Advocates Committee and CEO Roundtable. She is also a member of the Woodlands Economic Development Council and as Adjunct Staff at Montgomery College she designed and taught the curriculum for one of the first grant programs designed to assist under privileged men and women back into the workforce. She is a board member of the Gulf Coast Diversity Council and Chaired the Women in Leadership Symposium for 2006 & 2007 and Diversity Awards Luncheon.
