Community Training Network
 Description:
The Community Training Network is an exciting way for ASTD Houston to bring learning directly to the learner. Meetings are created so professionals can share in each others’ development and success. CTN provides a forum for presenters to discuss current issues, best practices, and trends in workplace learning and development. CTN meetings are open to everyone interested in learning in how they can enhance their own skills, or the knowledge and skills of others. The sessions are designed to provide for a facilitated session, networking and discussion .

Marketing
 Description: Susan Watson Susan Watson

Purpose

The Marketing Committee brings ideas, concepts and structure to enable ASTD Houston Chapter initiatives that promote retention and recruitment of members. We champion the training and human resource development profession in Houston and market the Chapter to Houston's professional community as an organization that brings excellence to workplace learning and performance.
 
 

Responsibilities

  • Develops marketing messages and identifies channels through which to convey those messages.
  • Develops marketing materials such as the Houston Chapter brochure.
  • Improves and expands public relations profile in the Houston community.
  • Supports Chapter committees by providing coaching on marketing concepts to achieve committee goals.
 Mission: Goals Develop an ASTD Houston Chapter brochure and press kit. Develop alliances with other associations in Houston that benefit from a joint relationship in providing enhanced learning and best practice sharing to our members. Membership
 Description:

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Recruits and welcomes new members to the organization
  • Conducts membership orientations prior to the general membership meetings
  • Submits new member information to the VP of communications for publication
  • Maintains knowledge of membership eligibility requirements and membership levels of the local chapter as well as National organization
  • Implements membership campaign drives
  • Coordinates volunteer placement into respective committees
  • Conducts follow-up interview of members whose memberships have expired
  • Coordinates annual volunteer recognition event with Programs VP
  • Coordinates and communicates with other committee VP’s as necessary.
