Learning Manager 


Job Description

One of our clients seeks an Exploration and Production Learning Manager who can translate learning directly into business results. This person should come with in depth experience in a senior learning role, some knowledge of the oil & gas industry, and the ability to grow and develop strong external and internal relationships. This person will have several specific areas of focus.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the products of the E&P learning organization meet needs of all the technical disciplines of the Company (Subsurface & Wells, Operations & HSSE, Drilling & Completions, and Projects & Engineering).
·    Maintain strong relationships and connections to all petro-technical disciplines using the established learning business model.
·    Ensure that each of the defined discipline learners is current in his/her technical field.
Create internal liaisons and teamwork with the ISD (Enterprise and Instructional System Design) Managers (and other E&P learning leadership roles) as collaborators.
·    Acknowledge and actively focus on areas of overlap between these various entities to ensure that integrated learning products are developed and that duplication is minimized through very powerful teamwork and interpersonal behaviors.
Serve on the appropriate internal and external learning boards.
·    Internally, serve as the E&P learning representative on Group HR’s Learning Council.
·    Externally, serve on appropriate alliance boards in order to provide external insight into the development and delivery of the E&P learning organization.
Remain committed to the rigor and utility of the agreed learning processes. Ensuring a certain level of standardization and alignment of learning standards and processes.
·    Develop and manage a team of highly experienced and skilled discipline learning and development managers
·    Own all discipline learning curricula
Ensure strong discipline connectivity
Create a career pathway for learning professionals in Company Essential criteria & qualifications
·    Provide assurance that the learning offers are in service of the needs of the business
Travel up to 25%

Required Experience:

QUALIFICATIONS
·    Fifteen (15) Years related experience required
·    Masters degree and/or PhD in learning and development or related field.
·    Experience leading a transformation in learning within a large corporation would be a plus.
·    Proven ability to provide direction and development for multiple direct reports.
·    Significant experience of design, development and management of Corporate University and Learning systems, technologies and centers
·    Extensive learning expertise, including demonstrated successes in defining programs and curricula to support professional technical development in a global organization.
·    Skilled in influencing key business decisions at executive levels.
·    Ability to take a concept from scratch and translate into quantitative and qualitative results.
