Guy Felder’s presentation was not only informative but provided tools which we can use at GCRBC to enhance performance. I particularly liked his visualization of the performance grid where we can influence co-workers status by encouraging engagement and real leadership . His suggestions can be implemented immediately as well. I truly enjoyed this seminar.

Tony Bridwell’s Accountability presentation was awesome! The common thread among all companies and organizations is they all strive for one thing—results, Bridwell explained. However, many companies fail to distinguish between activities and results. In his presentation, Tony shared the difference between the two and laid the foundation for building a “Culture of Accountability.” In what was described as “Playing above the line,” Bridwell delivered the Four Steps to Accountability “See It, Own It, Solve It and Do It.” It’s all about embracing the culture of change and owning it. The presentation was informative, engaging and enlightening… well worth the investment!

Tony’s presentation also made me do a self assessment of my own behavior. I asked myself if everything I do at work each day makes progress towards the company’s Key Results. The final thing I realized is that our company has already begun moving toward an Accountability Culture. Many of the processes and procedures brought in by our “new” management over the last 6 -8 months are steps that must be taken to begin a Culture Change. I now have a better understanding of what management is trying to achieve and how they intend to do it. That will help me to be aligned with their goals and I am now in a better position to help facilitate those changes. I can now see how this change will bring many ... more

I am honored to receive the ASTD Houston Scholarship award this year. I would like to thank ASTD Houston Chapter for their thoughtfulness in this regard. I have been an ASTD Houston member since one year and am pleased with the invaluable learning experiences this institution has made available to me. As a volunteer in the membership committee this gives me an opportunity to meet lots of interesting people well established in the HRD profession. I have also volunteered in some events organized by the Chapter that has enabled me to get involved in the HRD community as a whole. As a member of the chapter and getting involved in various events as a volunteer is a worthwhile investment of my time. The programs they sponsor are educational as well as enjoyable. I especially look forward to the Marquee events organized by the Chapter every three months where in they bring speakers who are expert in the topic under discussion as well as fun and interesting at the same time. ... more
